With reference to your letter No.16412 of the 7th instant relative to the export of Peanuts from Hong Kong to Messrs. W. R. Grace and Company, San Francisco, I am directed by Lord Robert Cecil to state for the information of Mr. Secretary Bonar Law that he remains of the opinion that such exports should be permitted; and I am accordingly to request that the Governor of Hong Kong may be authorised by telegraph to allow the consignments at present detained to go forward.
